Low Maintenance Swiss Apple

            [Acid-medium/low; Sugar-high; Tannin-low]


Sweet, Subacid

Physical Attributes:
  • Shape: Medium, conical
  • Skin: Golden with darker orange and red stripes
  • Flesh: Cream-coloured, crisp, fine-grained

            Excellent combination of sweet, honeyed flavour. Initially somewhat tart, but some citrus and vanilla notes linger on.

Neat History:

            A cross breed of Golden Delicious x Cox's Orange Pippin by Walter Hauenstein in Reafz, Zurch, Switzerland in 1966 where it is still a very popular eating apple.
