Physical Attributes:
- Shape: Medium-large obolid round
- Skin: Green base with significant scarlet red flush (90%) that begins colouring after fruit set. Thick-skinned.
- Flesh: Bright white, coarse grained, juicy with a tender texture.
Flavour:
Tart, fresh lemonade with an 'old-fashioned' flavor that mellows out to be more honeyed pear as it stores.
Neat History:
VK71 named after Kevin Van Kalkeran's father who found a resilient sport branch off an older McIntosh block at their family orchard on Osoyoos Lake in 2002.
